The President, H.E.John Dramani Mahama Interacts With Members Of The Central Regional House Of Chiefs.

The President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama last week undertook a two day official working visit to the Central Region.

As part of his programme of activities, the President met with the members of the Central Regional House of Chiefs in Cape Cost on Friday 28th February, 2014. In his address to the House, the President acknowledged the important role of chiefs in complementing the efforts of government in the development of the country.

He called on traditional authorities to assist the government in the fight against the galemsey menace which has became a serious environmental issue, The President said the government is introducing an alternative likelihood programme for the youth expercialy in the galemsey areas to provide an alternative source of livelihood for these people.

Also, present in the House was the Minister for Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs Dr. Seidu Daannaa.
